2012 Winter X Games Europe
This year’s Winter X Games Europe are over and clearly had some surprises. The second edition of the Euro X Games came along with the predicted attendance of Shaun White to compete in Halfpipe as usual, but also in Slopestyle – and this time for real and without any injuries to prevent this like it went down in Aspen in late January this year. On the Halfpipe competition it was up for the favs to take the X Games Gold back home and so it was up to Shaun for the men and TTR Halfpipe World Tour Champion Kelly Clark. In Slopestyle it was the same game basically. Well, halfway. While Jamie Anderson made once again clear why she is for a third time a TTR World Tour Champ, it was the flying tomato again to slay it down. Dropping in for the first time, he already threw down a run, which was just sick and scored 95 points. While Seb Toots and Chas Guldemond had their problems to throw down solid runs, it was Alek Oestreng trying to keep up with Shaun. On the second run the flying tomato showed then once again, what sort of skills he’s got and topped his first run even, scoring 97 points going bigger and bigger to finally win these X Games Gold of course. Impressive.
