Quiksilver and NYC for ASP World Tour

ASP confirmed today, that Quiksilver will be the sponsor and organizer of the 6th stage of the WT 2011 taking place in Long Island, New York. Sames as the location is quite a looker, so is the prizing money for this ASP event: 1MIO. US $. „The Quiksilver Pro New York“ will be part of the project „Global Quiksilver Pro Series“, which already includes the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast and the Quiksilver Pro France.

Kelly Slater is very happy about his future participation in the event in New York: „When I was young, I remember having had great waves in Long Island with my brother Sean and some friends. I’m really looking forward to be in New York. The event itself will be unique and more or less unknown to us and brings the ASP to Long Island should be fun because there is already a big surf culture there and somebig surf shops“. Might he have confirmed with that statement participate in the world tour 2011? It should be noted that Quiksilver has a huge hit, because the site of the competition is only a few km from the Big Apple and therefore will be able to enjoy the most media enriched city in the whole world for its surfing competition.
