Relentless BIGAIR presented by Quiksilver
Earlier this year, Stuttgart has become the new host of a brand new TTR Event, rather known as the „Relentless BIGAIR“, which was a total blast on its inauguration. A good organized contest, with rad parties afterwards and over 10’000 people attending to watch snowboarding’s elite going huge on the jump. Throughout the past months, the event has gotten a quick upgrade by the TTR, from formerly 4 to 5 stars category, becoming so another prestigious major competition, where the pros can take 850 TTR points home (instead of the formerly 500), with a prize money of U$ 50’000.
So the “Relentless BIGAIR presented by Quiksilver“ is going in this season into round #2 and start on December 16th and 17th. The jump measures exactly 36 meters (118 feet approx.) and is followed by an outstanding and unique in-city staircase-set, with handrails.
Some of you might have already noticed another change to this second edition in the headline: Quiksilver. The French big player joins Relentless in this season’s competition, due to the tremendous success of its premiere and first edition in January.
„We are glad to be part of the Relentless BIGAIR Stuttgart 2011. Due to last years success, we decided to get in touch with the event organizers to discuss a potential collaboration“, says Armin Weber, Quiksilver Marketing Manager.

las year's Relentless BIGAIR was a blast!
The riders line-up promises a competition on the highest level. Current TTR #1, Finn Roope Tonteri is taking part, as well as his fellow countryman and sixth in the Olympics, Markku Koski, who confirmed his attendance recently. Also attending are Austrian Master Halfpipe & Slopestyle Mathias Weissenbacher, Janni Korpi, who managed to win “Relentless Freeze” in London 2 weeks back, Swedes Nils Arvidsson and Kevin Backstrom, Mario Käppeli from Switzerland and highly acclaimed crowd pleaser and last Relentless BIGAIR Stuttgart’s second placed rider, Austrian Werni Stock.
A “Rookie-Challenge“, going down on December 17th (15h), will give upcoming potential riders the chance to qualify for the pro-event, giving a Wildcard for the 1st ranked young gun and the opportunity to mess with the big names.
The event is divided into a Qualify, followed by a Semi-Final round, from which of eight riders will enter the Final later that same night.
But, that’s not it yet. A major snowboard event wouldn’t be a major snowboard event if not being accompanied by some sick DJing to push the atmosphere on side a little bit more. For that, the organizers have hooked up with ”The Famous Deck Team”, as well as German bands “Die Orsons” and “Die Boys (Deickind) & Ein Girl (Maral Salmassi)”.
The BRANDSTATION trade show showcase its visitors the latest trends in snowboarding, while a new feature this time, will be showing exhibits from 40 years of snowboarding history, at the Snowboardmuseum.
Aftershowparty can’t be missed at Club Zollamt at 22h, rounding that weekend’s event off with the Famous Deck Team again, as well as the Drunken Masters, Kool DJ Swist, Busy Icer # Denson and Tease spinning the wheels.
The Ticket sale for the Relentless BIGAIR is also on, so there’s really no apology for not showing up on this sick weekend!
