weekly recap #1

weekly recap #1

\\ before the recap

as you might have noticed in this past week, we didn’t bring any new posts to the site. we tried to reach out to you through the fanpage and on our twitter to let you know why and everything. for those who didn’t read shit at all, the reason is comes here and is quite easy: x-mas is knocking on doors and we all got to get our gift shopping done ..that simple, right.

it might be a bit more than that and overall we just can tell you that things are pretty messy here right now (technical side, organization/time management, content..). so instead of not sleeping at all (only a small bit less than anyways, but who cares..) and continuing with daily posts, we do weekly recaps instead for the next few weeks (only of course!). there you’ll find in the known shitty way we always use to do, some sweet ass recaptures in written text with all relevant news of the week, including all important links for the edits or further info. nothing too fancy, nothing too annoying and long to read like the crap here right now. so keep on moving and enjoy the first weekly recap below, cause you ain’t watching football anyways ..right?

ps: thanks out to all readers out there who didn’t give a fuck and still came back to check back on us, even though there wasn’t new stuff on and stopped-by just for some rad edits or movies to watch ..YOU GUYS ROCK!

to kick this thing off, we start with the first Air & Style which went down  on last weeks 3rdof December. “Oakley and Shaun White present ..” haha yeah, but the thing is that the Red Tomato didn’t show up for the second time on his own event basically and must have being stucked up in some meetings for new toy scooters or that shampoo commercial we’re all waiting for.

The “Bird’s Nest” was not filled with the 20k they expected, but  still though could provide a sick contest with a terrifying jump and a cool show for 13’000 spectators. Norwegian rider Ulrik Bardertscher took the major part of the 100 grant prize money back home, same as 1’000 TTR points and the prestigious ‘Ring of Glory’. All done with a huge and perfect landed BS 12 Rodeo Indy Grab (91,67 pts), what also gave him the Best Trick title on that night.  Fellow countryman Torstein (Horgmo) ended up 2nd with a Cab 10 Double Cork (88,33 pts) and left on 3rd spot on the podium Ståle Sandbech, who threw down a BS 12 Mute Grab (81,67 pts) ..noticed something? PURE NORWEGIAN PODIUM, DAMN! for  a rad and only 26 (!)-min. long recap edit go here, you won’t regret. this was the first 6-TTR Star event of the 2012 season. next week on December 17th we will enjoy watching the 2nd edition of the Relentless BIG Air presented by Quiksilver in this year, which is hold for 5 Stars in this season and not the former 4. don’t miss this!

if you’re still looking for a small nice x-mas gift for your shred homie and don’t want to give him something digi-style, go over to the APO website and order the full team movie -‚Don’t Miss the Train‚-on dvd for free, which comes shipped for free as well and includes a cool sticker pack. “dude you didn’t have to spend money for me on sticker packs and a shred movie”. Yeah, right  ..no biggie man. you’re the man. for a foretaste you can have a look on Gerome Mathieu’s part while waiting for the dvd to get delivered.  if you’re still up on this lazy and maybe snowless Sunday to watch some rad full films, you definitely should check out the LOST BOYS flick, which is nothing less than the full FootyFiend movie, including Josh Blasman, Brody Pigeau, Cory Gallon, Lucas Ouelette, Tyler Ashbee, Steve Cartwright, Jon Versteeg, Alex BB, Neil Young, Ezra Griffieon, Kyle Lutes, Jake Fine, RALPH DAMMAN and friends. One movie more, which is probably the most expected one of this season among the free online flicks, is Helgason’s bros movie “Sexual Snowboarding”. Eiki and Halldør gave you even the chance to get a full part in it and announced already, that they’ll be doing an own movie for next season “fo’ shoh!”. Sebastian Tootant didn’t get as far as he wanted on the Chinese Air & Style and lost his last season’s title there last week, what gives him enough motivation to practice hard to get further on the O’Neill Evolution in Davos after new year’s eve. watch out for Toots fellas! since all resorts basically opened now on the West Coast, Park City definitely turns out the place to be. Dylan Thompson, Zak Hale and Ethan Deiss, who rep it for the Monster drink think likewise and sent it from Utah for the VG bunch yesterday – watch here. Bear Mtn.edits are spread all over the web.

That’s also what the Euro shreds noticed an chose to get there to check it out, since there isn’t any snow at all in Euroland ..fuck.  Same thought the Artec Global AMs, like Pat Lynch or Pirate ripper Kalle Ohlson. Dutch shred babe Veroniqi Hanssen, who made it on that team a couple of days ago is already on her way there and will catch back with us for a quick chat after coming back. No matter that Euroland is dryer than a god damn box of x-mas cookies, the parks over here are working hard for the day the first snow drops really and are upgrading their parks like crazy. The Crystal Ground park in Kleinwalsertal, Austria expands to the double of its current size now, staying open on Wedneydays till 22h with with slope lights on, a second triple kickerline and other nice features. Kitzsteinhorn opened their brand new superpipe on the Central Park, what we told you some months before. The better news: The baby isn’t only open a super nice to ride. It got 30meters longer than expected! 160 meters long (instead of formerly thought 135m) and 6.5 metres high walls are waiting for you to get ripped. To get now some technical or industrial product background in here, JF Pelchat is giving us some more details (when you want to call it like that) on his NOW SOWBOARDING myth. The bindings which of course claim to be a game changer got no highbacks and supposed to give full surfy ride feeling. We’re keeping on track with that and tell you some more as soon as JF drops these things officially ..the webisodes can’t miss out just because there is now plenty of opening edits flooding the web. Markass Mondays dropped the 3rd episode with their Aerial 7 Headphones deal, including another Monday shredding with Darrell Mathes, Ryan Tarbell, Anthony Mazzotti, Chad Tarbell, Lucas Magoon, Daniel Brown, and more. On the other side there is Sundays in the Park back again and are on with their 3rd episode from Bear Mtn. Full parts won’t never get out of style, same as MJs Retro kickz and Frank April already dropped one full edit for this season. Now he dropped a second one ..mostly SWITCH (!) for Brother’s Factory’s Tabarnac. ‘The Don’ JP has got to be so proud of this badass.

Last but not least of the full parts section here, enjoy Chris Grenier at …what else, THE BONE ZONE and another sick Convoy part by Krister Ralles. no comment needed here. for those of you, who are still thinking about getting to one of the smaller camps to get their swag back on shredding, the elooa camps by Elias Elhardt had their second camp now and all riders were super stoked about having learned slides and how to stomp solid 3’s and 5’s even! Have a look on that camp sesh here. in case you ladies are sick of too much males around the camps and not getting the real pushing effect you expected, we got something else for you: THE OAKLEY SNOWBOARD PROGRESSION CAMPS return in 2012 and even Canada includes a stop this time! To finnish this thing off, we give you here the last Pirate Log, which got done in order to get balance back between rail and park shots on the web and comes with nice Japanes powder action from Hokkaido and for those of you who enjoy rad edits by former Isenseven brain Vincent Urban, check out his 3rd episode of his In Asia series, he’s making based on his roadtrip vacation footy.

That’s it for this week. Now go crack open a cold one and enjoy this mass of new shred edit bitches!

PEACE OUT.

ps: we’re still though putting stuff on our Twitter and the fanpage of course so stay tuned and see y’all next week!
