2013 Billabong Air & Style 20th Anniversary

Too many years passed in front of our eyes, too many historical moments of snowboarding and especially with one particular event: The Air & Style. No matter if we’re talking about Munich, Innsbruck or even China. The Air & Style is barely represented everywhere over the world to spread the love for snowboarding the best he can. For this season’s edition the brains behind the Air & Style thought to do something, what is a little bit more dignifying for this 20th anniversary of this old and prestige worthy event. For the first time the Air & Style will be enjoyable during 2 (!!) amazing days in Innbruck, Austria. The special birthday edition of the Billabong Air & Style is going down as usual in the Bergisel Stadium in Innsbruck, on February 1st and 2nd. While on the 2nd day the Air & Style will present the known contest format in form of a big air contest, day #1 will be featured by a rad burn Style Session before, on which the riders will be judged on the big kicker concerning the best style as the name says already. For the main event the lineup got a little bit stretched from 16 up to 24 riders, that will compete for € 75’000 prize purse and Peetu Piroiinen’s (FIN) title from last year back, that everybody wants deadly. The Finnish ripper won’t have it that easy as there is legend riders invited for this special anniversary edition such as Gigi Rüf, Terje Håkonsen or Nicolas Müller, but also former champions like Reto Lamm, Stefan Gimpl or David Benedek will be there and will be honoured.

On the music side, the organizers of the Air & Style won’t fool anybody that night, as we will enjoy live performances by German oldschool crowd blasters Die Fantastischen Vier, the newschool trash-pop group Kraftklub and U.S. rap star Mac Miller, so now you got an idea what you might miss if you don’t hurry.
