NIKE 6.0

so far
Recently entered the game and they just won‘t stop! Nike‘s new brand for action sports rather known as Nike 6.0 is basically „smoking“ we can say. In Snowboarding they started with an incredible boot line and outerwear. They builded up a pro team, which is pretty scary and still though you can read month after month that there is a new pro they bought or about to buy. Last one here: Helldar Helgason. Further smaller sponsorings during the season were happening. Last year it was a small jibfestival during the ISPO near Munich in local snowpark „Heisä“ for example, calling it „The Nike 6.0 Farm“, which was more like a tiny jib session by and for the pros, where a small bunch of friends competed against each other. But not just only pros and industry are main target of Nike 6.0.
recently
In late October 2010 Nike 6.0 offered in colaboration with Isenseven‘s filmer Alex Schiller a videoworkshop for the kids, during the Stubaier resort opening. The kids were showed basic techniques in editing and filming. In the end, a small snowboard edit was done by all participants under Schiller‘s watch. Recently they set up a contest known as The Nike 6.0 Stair-Set Battle Tour (TTR 2 Star). An amateur jib contest, which goes through entire Europe. The winners of each stop, qualify for the big super finale (TTR 3 Star) at the Olympic Stadium in Munich on February 12th, right before the Air & Style kicks off. Last one is the best what Nike 6.0 has probably done so far for snowboarding at all. After Nokia jumped off quite spontaneously in 2008, just a couple of weeks before the event could take place, there hasn‘t been afterwards an Air & Style Big Air event anymore in Germany. Now after three years of absence, Nike 6.0 made it possible and brought the famous and spectacular event (TTR 6 Star) back to Munich and even being now under the watch of a true sports sponsor, which has definitely paid his dues. It should be pretty interesting to see what they will show at this year‘s upcoming ISPO in Munich, which will be from this sunday February 6th till the 9th. Besides sick snowboots and outerwear, who knows if we might get to see first snowboards by Nike.
