Roots Culture Connect | ACTION SPORTS „CONSCIENCE OF CULTURE“
We dropped last week our very first interview with former pro snowboarder Ali Goulet. Despite the fact of being a former, Ali is still up to the world of action sports of course, but without launching an own snowboard brand, outerwear label or something like most do. Roots Culture Connect, is an all new action sports online video magazine, giving a deep insight on action sports, their industry and culture of course. As Ali himself told us a few days ago: „We want to be bluntish, but without the crap in the toilet stuff“.
press release by RCC:
Roots Culture Connect (RCC) “the conscience of culture“ officially brings their unusual giftedness to the outside world! The online action sports video magazine focuses on bringing in-depth industry and athlete coverage to past, present, and future generations. What started as a Face Book thread over recent Winter X Games 15 between friends Ali Goulet and Brendan Roby, has now morphed into what is RCC. Roots Culture Connect will deliver video interviews, contests, and features rooted in Snowboarding, Skating, Surfing, Cycling, MMA, Auto, and more. RCC’s goal is to formulate long term personal/industry relationships and release unorthodox content material that relates on a deeper personal level than the typical interview- or- recycled material that one usually finds within the industry. The site launches with a 3-way Torstein interview, Goulet’s own “Da Real Ali G Show,” Liberty University’s Snowflex tour, and coverage from big mountain freeride event “Red Bull Minor’s Cup.”
Each steeped in action sports and culture that comes with the territory, the team behind Roots Culture Connect features three different voices from different perspectives. “There were some long telephone conversations about what it was we wanted to accomplish and the overall feel and goal of what we were trying to do” states Roby. One of those calls was to Ali’s longtime childhood friend Nik Greenblatt. Nik is the founder of [ 2 one 5 ] Creative, a branding and graphic design studio whose clients include Burton Snowboards and UFC to name a few. Nik’s heritage within Action Sports and urban culture, along with his unique vision and executions, provides a look and feel that’s truly perfect for the site.
All three partners have widespread knowledge and business experience that brings something distinct to the table. Brendan Roby is a published freelance writer, and was a liaison/marketing promotions coordinator for an Action Sports group in Charlotte NC. Ali Goulet is an Industry sales rep, decorated cyclist, and professionally sponsored snowboarder for a decade. Together, they bring a relevant voice to the action sports culture.
